Youth Beat Radio is a community radio program run out of Ohio State University’s extension Outreach Program in conjunction with the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR). Our production team consists of high school and university students who coordinate to combine multiple narrative and informational segments focused on empowering youth and sustaining the environment. We air weekly on both on WCRS 98.3 FM and WGRN 94.1 FM. These are both stations run by Columbus community radio.
Our stories focus on youth empowerment, community issues and involvement. We cover everything from local community activities to youth groups to unique areas of study and our interviewees range from university professors to high school students and everything in between. We truly believe that all young people have the ability to make a difference, and we try our best to empower them through our broadcasts. So feel free to browse around: meet our team, listen to old shows, give feedback on current shows, suggest ideas for new shows or just see what we’re all about! We hope you learn something and go away feeling a bit more powerful!
